We support children’s musical development by providing everything they need to accelerate their progress.
- Gamified learning: Children learn more effectively when they are fully engaged. At Sam’s studio, students participate in weekly games that help build a solid foundation in rhythm, pitch, and posture. With our extensive library of games, there’s something new and exciting every week!
- Sight Reading: At our studio, students learn to read music through games and daily sight-reading practice. Sight reading is a fundamental part of our curriculum and is never limited to pre-exam checklists.
- Seven Animal Techniques: Our beginners start with the Piano Safari method, which introduces the “Seven Animal Techniques” to establish a strong foundation for confident and free piano playing. These techniques form the core upon which advanced skills are built.
In our studio, students explore the following key aspects of piano playing:
- Mastering new pieces quickly by using efficient practice techniques.
- Performing in front of others.
- Truly understanding music.
We encourage our students to participate in local music competitions, AMEB exams, and our biannual student concerts. We thoroughly prepare each student to maximise the benefits of these opportunities.

Practice teams
It takes a team to nurture a budding musician! The child, parent and teacher all work together to develop the child’s skills.
Parents help to cultivate a musical environment and guide their children with their home practice.
Parents do not need prior experience with music. By participating in lessons and making use of the provided learning resources, parents can confidently encourage their children at home.
